The "turnover" meeting was held today at Linda's C's condo in Phoenix. At the meeting, the reins of Spring Break were turned over from the 2010 committee to the 2011 committee.

The fledgling 2011 committee discussed a variety of different matters, including the date of the next committee meeting, which will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 6:30 pm in the small conference room at Lambda Phoenix Center. A regular meeting date and time was not set yet, and days and times other than work nights were discussed.

Also set was the date for the annual Community Meeting — Saturday, Aug. 21 from 3-5 pm at First Congregational United Church of Christ (Pastor Steve's church).  At the Community Meeting, members of the community will choose the colors and theme of the 2011 event.  The meeting is open to all LGBT alcoholics.  Suggestions for the colors and theme come from the community.

The 2010 theme was "Rule 62: Don't Take Yourself Too Damn Seriously" and the colors were black and white.  A logo contest will then be held, so that a logo for the chosen colors and theme can be designed.  The logo, colors and theme will be emblazoned on T-shirts, mugs and other memorabilia, as well as on this website.

Traditionally, the logo contest is held at the Homecoming Dance in September, but it was suggested at the meeting tonight that the contest may be held earlier this year, so that the logo could be put to use for a longer period of time.

America's 5th Largest City, Phoenix, Arizona, is host to the state's 28th annual LGBT AA Conference. Presented by Arizona gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender members of Alcoholics Anonymous with Al-Anon participation, we welcome you to Spring Break 2011.

People from all over the United States and various parts of the world have attended our annual conference, and we look forward to meeting new friends every year. Spring is the perfect time of year to come to Phoenix with its vibrant city life, endless days of sunshine, and an abundance of natural beauty surrounding the city.

If the event is held at the traditional weekend of the year, the Spring Break will take place April 22-24, 2011.  But an earlier March date has been discussed, so please don't book tickets yet.  When the dates are determined, they will be posted here.
